Universal Steel Buildings Attends National Aerospace Organization In Aircraft Hangar Construction Forum

GSA steel building aircraft hangars

“It was great to meet and talk with leading aircraft hangar and maintenance facility construction and support technologies experts,” stated John McAdoo, of Universal Steel Buildings. “The information we gained from attending this forum makes us very competitive in the design, supply and delivery of aircraft hangars for both military and civilian agencies.”

Universal Steel Buildings sales personnel recently completed the 8-hour course of instruction offered by the National Aerospace Organization in Military Aircraft Hanger Construction and Modernization Technologies. New MILCON technologies and materials for use at military airbase installations were presented and discussed.  This included aircraft hangar MILCON construction & modernization projects with the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Army Aviation.  Colonel John D. Thomas, U.S. Air Force (Retired), President of the National Aerospace Organization presented forum participants with certificates of completion.

The focus of the forum was high-quality, economical, durable metal building solutions that are environmentally friendly and highly efficient.  Forum courses included instruction in pre-engineered structural processes to create faster construction times, reduce material requirements and lower construction costs. An overview of pre-engineered steel buildings for aircraft hangers, service buildings, warehousing and office space was given, along with best practices for achieving outstanding results in hangar design and construction. Also included in the forum were discussions of management and tracking of high value tools, fire detection and protection sensor systems for aircraft hangers and maintenance facilities, and environmentally compliant testing of fire suppression systems. Presentations included discussion of frame supported tension membrane hangars, including rapid erect hangars, rapid deployment shelters and rapid environmental shelters.
NAO is an independent technology liaison agency.   It serves as an unbiased ombudsman matching the capabilities of private industry with the requirements of the Department of Defense, United States Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and NASA.  NAO operates via funding from student tuition, event sponsors, and private industry.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet with construction representatives from military airbases nationwide.  “It was great to meet and talk with leading aircraft hangar and maintenance facility construction and support technologies experts,” stated John McAdoo, of Universal Steel Buildings. “The information we gained from attending this forum makes us very competitive in the design, supply and delivery of aircraft hangars for both military and civilian agencies.” The event facilitated the development of valuable business partnerships and new subcontracting opportunities.  Such partnerships give small businesses a competitive edge when competing for MILCON contracts at U.S. military airbases nationwide.
